AICTE IDEA Lab
The AICTE IDEA Lab (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application Lab) is a pioneering initiative launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in January 2021. It aims to transform technical education by encouraging innovation, creativity, design thinking, and hands-on learning across disciplines.
Our institute is honoured to be selected under this prestigious scheme, with a sanctioned project cost of ₹90 lakhs. The IDEA Lab is envisioned as a central hub for fostering innovation and developing real-world, sustainable solutions — particularly addressing the needs of rural and underdeveloped communities.
Purpose and Significance
The IDEA Lab serves as a dedicated ecosystem to support innovation, problem-solving, and real-world application of knowledge. It empowers students and faculty to work on meaningful projects that solve pressing challenges in rural and semi-urban communities.
Unlike conventional labs, the IDEA Lab promotes open exploration, interdisciplinary teamwork, and skill-building beyond the syllabus. It provides an environment for converting creative ideas into tangible prototypes — ultimately nurturing innovation that impacts society.
