Research plays a pivotal role in advancing human knowledge and understanding across various fields, from science and technology to social sciences and humanities. Research is the careful consideration of study regarding a particular concern or research problem using scientific methods. 

Research serves several crucial purposes:

1.      Knowledge Expansion: By locating new facts, ideas, or hypotheses, it adds to the corpus of current knowledge. This information serves as the cornerstone for additional research and creativity.

2.      Policy Formulation: To make defensible choices and create efficient policies, governments and other organizations rely on research. Evidence-based perspectives on social, economic, and environmental concerns are offered by research.

3.      Problem Solving: Research assists in addressing real-world issues and difficulties that businesses, society, or individuals encounter. For example, engineering research creates new technology, medical research looks for ways to treat illnesses.

4.      Innovation: Research findings are the source of many technical breakthroughs and advances. For instance, the creation of efficient solar panels and wind turbines is a result of research into renewable energy.

Ethical conduct of research is the need of an hour and every researcher must try their level best to follow ethical practices while carrying out any type of research activity. Most of the times, Pharmaceutical research requires the use of animals and unless and until researcher takes the permission from IAEC constituted by the research center as per CPCSEA Guidelines should not carry out any kind of animal studies. Even plagiarism in scientific writing should be avoided and it should be discouraged. Citation of research work used by the researcher is the best practice that needs to be encouraged.
