SNJB's Shriman Suresh Dada Jain College of Pharmacy is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi; the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi; the Government of Maharashtra (Ministry of Higher and Technical Education); and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai. The college is permanently affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
The college was established in the academic year 1999–2000 with an intake capacity of 60 students for the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) programme. Subsequently, the intake capacity was revised, and the college now offers undergraduate education in pharmacy with an intake capacity of 100 students.
Thereafter, postgraduate programmes in pharmacy were introduced progressively. The Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) programme in Pharmaceutics commenced in 2008 with an intake capacity of 8 students, followed by Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2009 with an intake capacity of 18 students and Pharmacology in 2010 with an intake capacity of 18 students. Subsequently, the intake capacities were revised, and the college now offers postgraduate education in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology, with an intake capacity of 15 students in each branch.
The academic year 2011 marked a significant milestone in the college's history, as the institution was recognised and approved as a Research Centre for doctoral research by the University of Pune. This recognition opened a new chapter in research and development for both faculty members and students.
In the academic year 2021–22, the college introduced the Master's programme in Regulatory Affairs with an intake capacity of 12 students and the Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) programme with an intake capacity of 60 students.
Admissions to various programmes are conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, from time to time. Generally, admissions are based on the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), conducted as per the applicable admission guidelines. Direct admissions are also available at the institute level for seats reserved under the Jain Minority quota.
Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) holders are eligible for direct admission to the second year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) programme through the admission procedure prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai. Direct admissions are also available at the institute level for seats reserved under the Jain Minority quota.
The college is supported by a highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty, with most faculty members holding postgraduate qualifications in their respective disciplines. Excellent infrastructure and facilities, including a well-equipped library and a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, further enhance the academic environment and contribute to the college's distinguishing features.
Chandwad, a taluka town, offers convenient access to essential amenities and facilities. It is located approximately 65 km from Nashik. The town is well connected to Manmad Railway Station, which is about 24 km away, and can also be accessed via Nashik (Ojhar) Airport, located approximately 55 km from Chandwad.
