SC ST Cell

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all such castes, races or tribes, which have been declared as scheduled castes and scheduled tribes by the Constitution of India under the provisions of Article 341 and 342 of the Constitution of India.

SC / ST Committee have been constituted to resolve the problems and grievances associated with SC/ST Students of the college. The college takes special interest in facilitating financial support to students from these communities from government agencies and other sources.

Objective

·      To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.

·      To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students

·      To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.

·      To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt. and UGC

Functions of the Committee:

  1. Coordinating and resolving the problems of SC/ST students facing in the campus.
  2. Facilitate the personal and academic growth of SC/ST students by regular interactions.
  3. Educate the SC/ST students on different schemes, fellowships, financial aid from Central and State governments.
  4. Inculcate the culture of self motivation in SC/ST students to become entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
  5. Provide adequate training to SC/ST students for cracking the competitive examinations GATE, GRE, IELTS,TOEFL etc.,
  6. Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these two Communities (SC/ST) suffering economic, social and educational deprivations.
