Program Educational Objectives(PEO):

PEO 1: Provide socially responsible, environment friendly solutions to Mechanical engineering related broad-based problems adapting professional ethics.

PEO 2:Adapt state-of-the-art Mechanical engineering broad-based technologies to work in multi-disciplinary work environments.

PEO 3:Solve broad-based problems individually and as a team member communicating effectively in the world of work.

Program Outcomes (PO):

PO1: Engineering Knowledge – Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis – Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/Development of Solutions – Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems – Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Engineering Tool Usage – Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and the World – Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice (formed by merging old PO6 and PO7).

PO7: Ethics – Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO8: Individual and Collaborative Team Work – Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO9: Communication – Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO10: Project Management and Finance – Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO11: Life-Long Learning – Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Program Specific Outcomes(PSO):

 (What s/he will be to do in the Mechanical engineering specific industry soon after the diploma programme)

PSO 1. Modern Software Usage: Use latest Mechanical engineering related softwares for simple design, drafting, manufacturing, maintenance and documentation of mechanical engineering components and processes.

PSO 2. Equipment and Instruments: Maintain equipment and instruments related to Mechanical Engineering.

PSO 3. Mechanical Engineering Processes: Manage Mechanical engineering processes by selecting and scheduling relevant equipment, substrates, quality control techniques, and operational parameters.

The Department of Mechanical engineering was established in the year 1994 with an ambition to develop skilled well knowledge mechanical engineers to meet need of technical manpower of nearby industrial sector and society.  The department has intake of 120 students. The Program is accredited by National board of Accreditation (NBA) for the period of three years up to June 2026.

The department of Mechanical engineering always strives to achieve academic excellence and our three students ranked in MSBTE merit list in the history of the Institution. It has combination of well qualified, dedicated experienced and young dynamic faculty members who devotes towards inculcating knowledge and skills to budding mechanical engineers.
Our department provides well-equipped laboratories and equipment     as per MSBTE norms to the students. The department also motivates students for higher studies and lifelong learning.

We also motivate and give exposure to the students to work on the innovative projects and allied activities to make them employable and become future entrepreneurs for self-employment.  Students are exposed to recent trends and techniques through strong and active industry- institute  interaction  which develop  the confidence to solve real problems and ability to handle complex and challenging tasks/projects.

We have strong alumni connect with more than 1800 diploma engineers developed by our department are serving in  various sectors/ industries including central and state government, private sector, technical educational institutes at various job profiles and positions  in India and as well as abroad.
